Sir I am so sorry that you do not have the belief that Jesus Christ died for all on the cross. I have seen your arguments on the contradictions of the Bible. But I do believe in the Bible and what it says. It is simply a matter of believing that Christ died for you and your sins. Where do you think your spirit goes after it leaves the body or do you simply think that dead is dead? I have seen many miracles happen by prayer in my church and that is simply because we are a praying church and we believe and have seen people healed by the power of prayer. You are the type of person, it sounds to me, that would place these miracles to the marvels of modern medicine. That is your perogative. I don't have the knowledge to argue with you on your points because you sound as I hae read like a well educated man but that is not always the right way of thinking. Many people I have known have been book smart but to have common knowledge they just can't compete. Not taking anything away from you I hope you realize that some day as your life is winding down you will realize that there is a God. Did you ever think that God was talking to his son Jesus when he said "Let us make man in our own image." Because if you read farther you will find out that there was a fight in heaven and Satan and his angels were thrown out. BObby Gambrel
Sir I am so sorry that you do not have the belief that Jesus Christ died for all on the cross.
Thanks for your concern. I am not sorry.
I have seen your arguments on the contradictions of the Bible. But I do believe in the Bible and what it says.
And that is your perogative. I do not believe in the Bible because of arguments like mine and the contradictions that are there.
It is simply a matter of believing that Christ died for you and your sins.
No... actually it is about weighing the evidence and deciding based on that weight. What you are telling me is that the evidence doesn't matter and we should simply believe. I cannot do that as it is putting the proverbial cart before the horse.
Where do you think your spirit goes after it leaves the body or do you simply think that dead is dead?
All of the evidence that I have seen indicates that dead is dead. If additional evidence is brought in, I will examine it. I am open to changing my mind.
I have seen many miracles happen by prayer in my church and that is simply because we are a praying church and we believe and have seen people healed by the power of prayer.
There has never been any documented cases of healing strictly through the use of prayer. What I am more inclined to believe is that this is the work of charlatans and trickery which have been shown to exist on countless occasions.
You are the type of person, it sounds to me, that would place these miracles to the marvels of modern medicine. That is your perogative.
And likewise, it is your perogative to believe the opposite.
I don't have the knowledge to argue with you on your points because you sound as I hae read like a well educated man but that is not always the right way of thinking. Many people I have known have been book smart but to have common knowledge they just can't compete.
Thank you for the compliments. Until shown some other form of knowledge, I will stick with book smart.
Not taking anything away from you I hope you realize that some day as your life is winding down you will realize that there is a God.
I would believe it today if there was sufficient objective evidence that such a being existed.
Did you ever think that God was talking to his son Jesus when he said "Let us make man in our own image."
I have heard this but the Jews who wrote the verse that you have quoted didn't know about or believe in Jesus. As these words were written by men hundreds of years prior to Jesus' birth, I am confident that they knew better than you or I can.
Because if you read farther you will find out that there was a fight in heaven and Satan and his angels were thrown out.
I have read this, actually. I have also read of talking asses, talking snakes, time standing still, seas being parted at a man's command and other such nonsense but I do not believe it because it is the stuff that fairy tales are made of.
Thanks for writing in,
Cygnus
